Learn Mental Game Secrets to Soccer Confidence!
Case Study: Andreas Periera Man utd
Andreas Periera Man utdfor almost 12 months was not being selected. This makes it mentally difficult , because it doesn't fit in with the human psyche. Our psyche requires pleasure and reward , and sitting on the "injury replacement bench " does not offer it consistently.
In plain language, this means that we have to get a certain amount of pleasure and stimulation or rewards from our daily activities and what we put into our bodies. If we don't, then we create a pleasure deficit or what is known as "reward deficiency," and are subject to depression, anxiety and poor performance. This does not inspire confidence. Each day we have to stimulate our reward pathways adequately if we are to function well emotionally, mentally and physically.
Sitting on the bench, not being selected, being played in different positions being confusing and doing nothing is not mentally easy for any player. He was on the lowest pay, in the utd squad, so the club did not really think highly of him.If they did, he was made to feel inferior to the 10 other midfielders.
He lacked the confidence, in the Utd set up in the summer 0f 2017, but without playing a dozen games in the team he was going to lack confidence, he was subconsciously not ready as a result of lack of Utd Games. You can blame him, but until he gets enough game time at Utd, you will never know how well he can perform.
He has to be mentored and pushed into the Utd team, to a level that his performance becomes subconscious.Football performance is about having experience in teams, games and in the right environment/circumstances.This is to build a subconscious game plan , it plants the strategy in the player's minds ,for a continuous 6 months player's subconscious memory becomes en grained to where other team players are and where to pass the ball , that is going to be executed by the automatic mind .
